K-8 Tuition Assistance and Scholarships
Every school family is encouraged to apply for scholarship funds through Catholic Education Arizona (CEA). Applications are available at time of registration and scholarships are based on financial need and/or fund availability. This fund is administered through the Diocese of Phoenix. Applications based on need are reviewed first, then applications based on fund availability will be considered after the awards for need have been designated. If the financial need requests deplete the scholarship fund, then there will be no fund availability awards distributed.
Because the State of Arizona has the Education Tax Credit, there are many options for financial assistance including Catholic Education Arizona. You may apply to several of the state tuition organizations (STOs) to get your family the assistance you need to keep Catholic education affordable for your family.
The STOs that SFdA School has working relationships with are listed below. You can apply for all of them online including Catholic Education Arizona (CEA). The information required for the applications for all other STOs is very similar.
Kindergarten - 8th Grade Scholarship Opportunities
You must be registered in SFdA Catholic School and Registration Fees must be paid before you may apply for scholarships.
Catholic Education Arizona (CEA) Scholarships
Applications due April 15, 2022 for 1st round & August 24, 2022 for 2nd round. Parents will be notified by letter on or before June 30, 2022 for First Round and September 30, 2022 for Second Round.

**Families who miss the 1st round application deadline will pay the full tuition rate for the first 3 months of the school year.**
Scholarship applications require enrollment in SFdA School, your 2021 Tax Information and an application fee paid to FAIR.
Institute for Better Education (IBE) Scholarships
- Financial Need Based Scholarships: Applications due June 1, 2022.
The IBE scholarship committee determines eligibility based on the financial information that you provide. - PLUS Scholarships: Applications due June 1, 2022.
You are eligible for PLUS if you have a new KINDERGARTEN student, a student transferring from an Arizona Public or charter school after at least 90 days of attendance, have previously received a Corporate or PLUS scholarship or have an Active US Armed Forces dependent. - Recommended Funds: New application required each school year to receive Recommended Funds.
Arizona State tax-payers are allowed to “Recommend” that a student receives the tax credit that they pay to the state.
Arizona Leadership Foundation (ALF) Scholarships
The 2022/2023 Application Period will be open from April 15 – June 15, 2022
We are excited to announce that we will be launching an online application portal available in the first part of May. Families can apply beginning April 15 with the fillable PDF, as in prior years or wait until May for the online application.
You are eligible for this scholarship if your child(ren) are a new student that is transferring from a public or charter school or entering KINDERGARTEN. Your 2021 Tax information is required to apply.
Once your child(ren) receive this scholarship, you can apply every year.
