Section VII: Safety and Legal  

1. Diocesan Safe Environment Training (SET). Our handbook encourages the active involvement of parents and families in supporting our students and school community. Before an adult may volunteer with students, a completed Safe Environment Training (SET) certification is required.

One of the things that makes a Catholic school special is that it is more than a place our children come each day for an education. It is a community, and each of us has something to offer that community.

At San Francisco de Asís, we often talk about stewardship as giving of our time, talent, and resources. Sometimes the word stewardship can sound like something big, but most often it happens in very ordinary ways. It is giving an hour of your time, helping with lunch, chaperoning a field trip, coaching a team, supporting a fundraiser, or simply stepping in when an extra set of hands is needed.

Religious education is an essential part of the academic and spiritual formation of every student at San Francisco de Asís Catholic School. Our students receive regular instruction in the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church, Sacred Scripture, prayer, and the sacramental life of our faith.

It is hard to believe we are already five weeks into the school year!

The first few weeks always seem to fly by. There is so much excitement, a touch of nervousness, new routines, and plenty of things to remember. Five weeks in, things are starting to feel familiar again. Students know where they are going, classrooms have settled into their routines, and we are finding our rhythm as a school community.

As we continue preparing for our WCEA accreditation visit in February 2027, we are asking for your help with an important part of our self-study: our WCEA Parent Survey.

Last spring, we invited families to complete this survey, and we are grateful to those who participated. If you completed the survey last spring, your responses have been received and are already included in this accreditation cycle. You do not need to complete it again. Thank you!

It is hard to believe that we are already five weeks into the 2026–2027 school year! Everyone has settled into their routines, and things are running smoothly once again. Thank you to our parents and students for your attention to our school dress code. Overall, our students are looking professional and modest, and we are proud of the way they represent SFdA each day. We are really shining!

San Francisco de Asis Catholic School is a fully accredited educational facility. Our accreditation is granted through the Western Catholic Educational Association, or WCEA, following a comprehensive self-study process. This reflective work allows us to carefully examine our mission, academic programs, faith formation, and overall school culture. It is both a moment of accountability and an opportunity for growth.
